ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The AGM for Wigtown Agricultural Society took place on
12th December. Iain McFadzean reported on a busy but enjoyable year for the Society as it celebrated its Bicentenary.
He stated "the promise of warm sunshine and a Royal visitor brought the crowds flooding in, to what was one of the most
successful shows in recent years." After serving his two year term, Iain retired, the new chairman and vice are
Ross McKie and Jim Wallace. The new committee will meet early in January to start planning the 2012 show. Any proposals
for judges should be given to committee members of the secretary prior to this.
DVD OF WIGTOWN
SHOW 2011 The DVD
taken at this year's show by Stephen Baxter is now available. There are two discs in the presentation box, one giving
an overview of the whole show and another mainly following The Princess Royal as she toured the show. The Baxter family
had two cameras covering the show and between the discs there is coverage of some of the livestock judging, the Parade, prizegiving,
presentation of the long service medals, food and craft marquees, the Poultry Show and lots more. The pack is £15 which
includes the presentation box and postage. Phone Stephen on 01776-870602 or email baxter@glenhead.org to order your copy - it would also make a good Christmas present!
The DVD, Society tie and Bicentenary Booklets
would all make great Christmas presents for those "difficult to buy for folk" - so purchase now before they're
sold out!
PHOTOGRAPHS View the photos taken by Morgan Images

with lots of information and photos celebrating the past 200 years of Wigtown Agricultural Society are still available.
Priced at £5 direct or £6 posted to any UK address. There are also just a very few Society ties remaining, which
are £7.
To purchase either of these, contact the secretary, Helen McColm via the email link at bottom

AFTER SHOW MEETING Thank you to all who attended the meeting on 17th August. All comments will be taken on board and help to
shape next year's show.
THANK
YOU Well, that's the show over for another year! Thank you to everyone who took part in whatever
way and especially to all those who were praying for good weather - it worked!!
I can't thank everyone enough
for all the support they have given me as the new secretary. It has been a very busy and challenging year however it
was great to see all the plans come together on show day and to meet The Princess Royal was a real honour. A huge
thank you to all committee members, volunteers and everyone who played a part in making the show such a success
- I really hope you'll be happy to help out again next year!
